Hi, we are Nadia and Abraham Moreno.
We are a family owned practice in El Paso, TX and are passionate about serving our community and the families that form it. Here's a little about us.
===== NADIA - Co-owner / Speech-Language Pathologist - M.S., CCC-SLP =====
In my younger years I was raised in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico and at 10 years old my family moved to El Paso, TX where I was raised. I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2011 with a Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology. My passion for speech language pathology started 30 years ago when my younger brother was diagnosed with autism.
My parent's visits to multiple care providers, the endless research nights, the struggles to find providers that truly care, and their feelings of uncertainty are what prompted me to become my brother's interpreter and advocate at a very early age. As a protective sister I always wanted to join his therapy sessions and it was there that my love for speech therapy began.
Needless to say, my passion is treating children in the autism spectrum. I also worked as a behavior modification therapist for 4 years and learned many techniques that have proven helpful as a speech therapist. I am passionate about and truly enjoy helping children have a voice of their own while working closely with their family members.
In my 12 years of experience, I've had the privilege to treat other diagnosis such as: down syndrome, Leigh's syndrome, Cerebral palsy, language delays, articulation disorders, fluency disorders, and feeding disorders.
My mission is to provide the best quality of care to all my patients and make families feel valued and understood.
===== ABRAHAM - Co-Owner / Administrator =====
I was born in El Paso, Tx and raised in Canutillo, Tx. I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a degree in Biological-Composite Sciences with a Minor in Secondary Education.
Growing up my younger brother was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 3. Overnight, my mother became a doctor, nurse, dietician and advocate for my brother. Everything and anything he needed her to be, she became. I too saw the distress, uncertainty, and difficulty my parents had in finding proper care and direction. I can truly empathize with the hardships parents and children have with challenging diagnoses.
I have always been very inquisitive, but learning wasn't always easy for me. My mother's tenacity and drive inspired me to work hard at what I wanted to achieve. I continue to be passionate about learning and educating those that are willing to put the effort to educate themselves. I spent almost 14 years using my skillset in retail developing strong teams that drove strong results because I focused on one simple truth - the client is the only reason we have a job.
I understand the families we treat are the only reason we have a job. My goal is to now use my skillset acquired from education and more importantly from life to make this part of your families' journey less daunting by providing simple and clear customer service that dignifies you and your family. I truly look forward to serving you.
